The painting "Hydrangeas" conveys a subtle inner conflict, manifested through the fragmentation of a woman's personality. Her face, seemingly split in two, reveals two opposing states — one side with a sly, observant gaze, while the other appears helpless and sorrowful, frozen in silence. She hesitates before an encounter with an unwelcome person, her emotions tangled like the lines surrounding her figure.

The dark, intersecting lines evoke a sense of confusion and obstacles, as if the woman is trapped within her own contradictions. Her inner parts are at odds: one longs to reveal itself, to engage, while the other retreats inward, unwilling to connect. The hydrangeas in the background, symbolizing both changeability and sincerity, emphasize this duality.
